Winamp Pro v5. Maybe it requires a Winamp restart on Win8 for changes to take effect though shouldn't do, normally? Lord knows, lol. It's all very strange Anyway tanin should be able to use the configuration settings for both of these input plug-ins, under General Preferences - Plug-ins - Input, to check and edit if necessary the file types associated with each one.

Assuming any changes made here are made to Winamp configuration files and not to the registry, and these configuration files are in folders where updating files is allowed by Windows 8.

If any changes to the plug-ins configuration settings are not maintained after restarting Winamp, then I would try making the changes while running Winamp in Administrator mode. I'm only suggesting running in Administrator mode for changing options, not for normal Winamp usage. I attached a pic with the plugin's settings.

I don't have Windows media player installed. Maybe that's the problem? Attached Thumbnails. On two fresh xp installs on the same machine the first time it was installed it worked fine, after the second reformat it was installed again and now refuses to identify any installed codec. If it works it works great but at the moment i cannot listen to wma files in winamp :- - August 20, by Howard Harvey.

I have a question. It said it needed a WMA Codec. I tried installing this one and it didn't work. Have I done anything wrong? Comment to Donald Henderson - Had the same problem at first when using the light version of Winamp 5. Installed the full version, removed it and then installed the light version again. Installed the plugin and it worked perfect. So try install the full version and see if it works.

Under the plugins, it says-"no codec installed" for both the input and output plugins. I do have all the codecs for wma versions 7,8 and 9. This plugin did not solve the problem - February 1, by Donald Henderson.
